Why CSSBuy Spreadsheet Links Stop Working — and What to Check Next

A product link has more than one moving part

A spreadsheet entry may point to a CSSBuy product page, a Taobao or 1688 listing, or another marketplace URL. The spreadsheet can remain online while the seller changes the source listing, removes a variation or republishes the item under a new ID.

CSSBuy currently supports pasting product links into its search field and also offers keyword search for supported marketplaces. That means a failed deep link is a reason to re-check the source, not permission to rely on the old card title or price.

• The seller removed or replaced the original listing
• A specific colour, size or variant is no longer available

Use the source ID before broad keyword search

Copy any visible item ID, marketplace URL, seller name and exact product wording before leaving the record. An ID search is more precise than a generic brand or category query. If only a title remains, combine the distinctive model wording with the marketplace name.

Treat visually similar search results as separate listings. A new result may have different options, materials, return conditions or seller ownership even when the photos appear identical.

Re-check every commercial detail on the live page

Do not carry an old spreadsheet price, QC count or stock label into a replacement result. Open the live listing and confirm the selected colour, size, quantity, domestic delivery and any seller notes. CSSBuy product pages also state that goods shown for shopping-agent service come from third-party platforms rather than CSSBuy itself.

If the source cannot be recovered confidently, remove it from the shortlist. A missing link is not evidence that another seller result is the same product.

What to record when reporting a broken link

A useful report lets the index owner distinguish a temporary parser problem from a genuinely deleted listing. Include the spreadsheet URL, failed destination, time checked, device or browser and any source item ID. Do not send account credentials or payment details.

Match the error to the next check

The safest editorial update is sometimes removal. Keeping a popular but unrecoverable card may preserve clicks, yet it sends readers toward an uncertain listing and weakens the usefulness of the index.
